Richard "Rick" Pearson is an American film editor, producer, and director. He is the editor of the latest James Bond film, Quantum of Solace, along with Matt Chesse, scheduled to be released in November. Pearson has been most recognized for his editing work in United 93. He received the BAFTA Award for Best Editing for the film, along with with Clare Douglas and Christopher Rouse. In addition to the BAFTA award, the editors were also nominated for an Academy Award for Film Editing and for an ACE Eddie award.

Pearson was raised in New Hope, Minnesota. As a college student in the early 1980s, Pearson was an intern at the television station WCCO-TV in Minneapolis. He moved to Hollywood in 1985 to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. His first editing credit was for the television miniseries From the Earth to the Moon. The "1968" episode of From the Earth to the Moon was nominated for an American Cinema Editors "Eddie" award (Best Edited Episode from a Television Mini-Series) and for an Emmy Award (Outstanding Single Camera Picture Editing for a Miniseries or a Movie). Christopher Rouse, Pearson's co-editor on The Bourne Supremacy and United 93, also worked on this miniseries. Following an editing credit for the film Muppets from Space, Pearson edited two films (Bowfinger and The Score) that were directed by Frank Oz, who was Jim Henson's early collaborator in developing the Muppets.

Pearson has been elected to membership in the American Cinema Editors. He currently lives in California.

Editing since the mid 90s, he has worked on numerous corporate/industrial projects, regional and national commercials, music videos and supervising editor on a 35mm independent feature length films His work has been in festivals, on DVD and on television. Editing and instruction clients include all three major networks, Letterman, Conan O'Brien, ESPN, all four branches of the military and many Fortune 500 clients.

Teaching both nationally and internationally for Future Media Concepts, he specializes in post production, focusing on subject such as: Editing, High Definition, Standard Definition, DV, DVD Production, Workflow, Color Correction, Compression and Graphic Compositing.

Some of the solutions he�s certified to teach include products from Apple, Avid, Adobe and Autodesk.

Jeff is a entertaining and energetic seminar instructor, speaking on average over fifty sessions a year at various shows. For the past four years he has taught and chaired technical Tracks at NAB's Post Production World, Post Production World New York, the Avid Government Training Symposium, and the Consumer Electronics Show. Additionally, he is the Program Manger for the Editor's Retreat, a yearly exotic getaway, focusing on editing (both aethetics and technology.)

Jeff does some technical writing, having contributed to a number of books and magazines. He has Tutorial DVDs on Avid, Marquee and Color, available from Vasst.com

Douglas Spotted Eagle is a giant in the video and audio industries, having received Grammy, Emmy, DuPont, Peabody, and many other awards. His music is heard in a wide range of films from "Last Samurai" to "Star Wars-Ewok" cartoons. His biggest project of 2005 is his musical compositions for PBS monster "The War that Made America," and in 2006 contributed several score pieces to "Lost Landscapes, another PBS full-run, which has been nominated for an Emmy. Spot may also be found in the various forums as a host on subjects from compositing, HDV, Sony Vegas, to audio engineering. He also has won many awards for his documentaries, including "Toubat: A Journey of the Native American Flute" and "The Way of the Powwow." His Azee' Choo'nii'gii' is the first film produced in the Dine' language.

Douglas has authored several books, the first of which was published world-wide when he was 18 years of age. His technical books include subjects such as Apple's Soundtrack, Sony's Vegas, Adobe's Encore, and DV Basics, and author of the industry best-selling "HDV: What You NEED to Know," and "Instant Vegas." As a VASST trainer, Douglas has been around the world several times over. Training in areas as diverse as Australia, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Guatemala, Bolivia, Dominican Republic, Sweden, Russia, England, Germany, France, Holland, Israel, Canada, Japan, he has gained a powerful understanding of what people want to know, and how they'd like to best learn it. A dynamic speaker, an inspiration to the industry, and a doer rather than a talker, Douglas simply is wonderful to experience. Catch this guy where you can, because he never stays in one place very long. Douglas is also an aerial camera operator, and has produced training videos on skydiving/aerial camera work.
